Our hair falls from the roots because of telogen effluvium. Now the question is what is telogen effluvium? About 85% to 90% of hairs of a normal person’s head are actively growing and this process is called the anagen phase, and resting other is called the telogen phase.
The anagen phase is the growing phase of a follicle. The hair follicles begin to grow to full size and extensive into the skin. During the previous growth cycle, the hair follicle growing may or may not have shed. It enters the telogen after the hair follicles have stopped shrinking. The follicles appear inactive, during the telogen phase. During this period the hair shaft may also be shed. Shedding hairs are a common part of the round of hair growth.
Telogen effluvium can activate for several different reasons, surgery, major physical trauma, major psychological stress, high fever, severe infection or other illness, extreme weight loss, extreme change in diet, abrupt hormonal change, iron deficiency, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, and some medication are the basic reason of telogen effluvium.
